A person who loves to translates conversations to sentences and stories into articles, her love of people and their stories has lent to her success as a magazine editor.
My background in reporting and media has primarily been in online and magazine journalism. Working as an editor for Denver Magazine, I enjoyed the challenge of balancing investigative, 2,000-word essays, with short, quippy interviews to assemble a well-rounded magazine issue to our readers. I secured and executed interviews with Barack and Michelle Obama, The Fray, Diana DeGette, and many other luminaries that a small magazine would not normally feature. I leveraged my stick-to-itiveness and dedication to finding the best story, new angle, or most promising lead, to deliver first-rate content that was competitive with the magazine’s 20-year rival, 5280. In addition to my experience with the magazine, I have also studied digital journalism through the Digital Media Studies Program at The University of Denver, both as an undergraduate and at the graduate level.
